Emily Hartley is the lead female character of the hit TV series The Bob Newhart Show from the 1970s.

Biography[]

Maiden name is Harrison, her parents visit from Seattle. When she was a child, her father was a police officer. Her father and Bob often compete for her affection.

They had no children together in any of the episodes. However, they did get to know two orphans Phil and Wally through Jerry, and from her school. She also spends time with students by working at the school district. Later, she attends University.

Emily is a third grade teacher at Tracy Grammar School and later, its Vice Principal. She also does a lot of work for the board of education, often holding evening meetings at home.

At the end of Season 6, she worked for at least 14 years. That results in at least 15 years after the series finale. Before she worked at Tracy, she taught at Jackson Elementary School.

Emily has a fear of flying. She can cook, clean, and teach. But unlike Carol, she can not take care of plants. She has very sloppy handwriting. She frequently sets up blind dates for other people. She has never understood sports. At the same time, she has won many awards.
